New Delhi: Panic gripped the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday after the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) received a bomb threat via email. Swift action by the Delhi Police, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), and dog squads ensured the venue was thoroughly checked and declared safe.
“We received a bomb threat via email on the address of DDCA. We immediately forwarded it to Delhi Police. The Delhi Police bomb squad came and inspected the whole venue. Nothing was found,” confirmed DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma.
According to police sources, multiple teams rushed to the stadium as soon as the threat was reported. The entire stadium premises were carefully searched, and the bomb threat was ultimately declared a hoax.
